Local Information and What we Do

For those that are local to the Washington DC area  Lashof Violins is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 and mornings after 10:30 by appointment.

Repairs of all instruments are performed on site - nothing is sent out. We are the repair facility for several music stores in the D.C. area and beyond as well as a supplier of new String Instruments and the repair facility for Montgomery County Public Schools.

Accessories- Lashof Violins carries an extensive line of accessories from cases to strings. Most brands of strings are in stock and all are at major discounts. We do not offer mail order accessories (or instruments). Based on our extensive knowledge and experience with accessories, strings, cases, bows, and instruments, we are able to provide time and consideration to help you make educated decisions about what items will truly meet your needs; important qualities you will probably not encounter from mail-order and internet based businesses. We carry a full line of strings, cases, bows, chin rests, shoulder rests and many other items always at 30% to 50% off list price and very competitive with other local retail stores. Please call for current prices on any accessory that you might need.

Sheet Music - We have in stock more than 1000 of the most requested titles of Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass books from scales to solos - etudes to method books available for in store purchase. Our In Store Collections database  has over 6000 titles searchable by individual piece.

Instruments and Bows are available to take out for a one week trial period (with a credit card guarantee), and all hand made instrument sales come with a one year warranty and a lifetime trade in guarantee of 100% (less devaluation due to wear and tear, provided the instrument is still in resalable condition) We do not ship hand made instruments for trial. We do however offer our composite bows for mail order within the US.

Instrument Rentals are available to all Washington D.C. Metro area customers and are your best rental value in the D.C.  area.

     From the Washington DC area (Virginia and lower Montgomery County) take 495 to 270 North  towards Frederick to exit 11. * continue below

    From Frederick take 270 South to exit 11. ** continue below

* Take Exit 11 onto Montgomery Village Ave.  Go to the second light and turn right on MD Route 355 (N. Frederick Ave.) Continue 3 lights to Chestnut Street. Turn right and go one block to a left onto East Diamond Ave. We are the first building on the right. 

** Take Exit 11 down to the light, turn left onto Montgomery Village Ave.  and proceed to the second light. Turn right on MD Route 355 (N. Frederick Ave.) and go 3 lights to Chestnut Street. Turn right and go one block to a left onto East Diamond Ave. We are the first building on the right.

    From Rockville take 355 North (N. Frederick Ave. / Hungerford Drive)- cross Shady Grove Road and continue to the 5th light and turn left onto Chestnut Street. Go one block to a left onto East Diamond Ave. We are the first building on the right.
