Lashof Violins we like to give accurate estimates of repair costs
and always stick to those estimates. We will never drop a
"surprise " on you when you pick up your
instrument. All repair work is done in house, in
fact we are the repair facility for MCPS and many other local
music stores serving other school systems and other
regions in the DC Metropolitan area. These prices are examples of our
charges. Many problems may not be noticeable to the
untrained eye, so bring in your instrument for a trained
evaluation and estimate. Our Dedicated
staff of professional instrument technicians use high quality
bridges, strings, and bow hair on all of our and your fine
instruments.
We can also work with you to get
the sound you are looking for out of your instrument, so
just bring it in for a free inspection whenever you like.

Artistic restorations on musical instruments are
subject to the interpretation of the individual restorer and cannot be offered with a guarantee regarding specific results
on varnish color or tonal characteristics. Our goal
is to bring out the unique and best personality in each
instrument while maintaining the integrity as to what the
original maker had in mind.
These are just a basic guideline of costs. Individual estimates
are necessary on any varnish touch up, crack repairs, neck
grafts, and repairs requiring the instrument to be opened.
Lashof Violins will not make repair estimates based on photos or descriptions of repairs needed; all repair estimates must be made in store with the instrument/bow present.
